1. James Cook (+8)
Why the sharp money is buying
James Cook continues to be one of fantasy’s most efficient running backs, yet dynasty managers still discount him because Buffalo rotates backs near the goal line.
Sharp managers appear to believe:
• Elite offense
• Stable workload
• Contract uncertainty already priced in
• Weekly RB1 ceiling remains intact
Take
Cook is no longer viewed as a short-term producer.
The market appears comfortable betting on another season of top-12 production.
Dynasty Verdict: BUY
2. Zay Flowers (+7)
We’ve talked about Flowers quite a bit.
This continues a trend rather than starting one.
Sharp managers appear convinced:
• Year 3 breakout is coming.
• Baltimore will throw more.
• Flowers has become Lamar Jackson’s WR1.
The biggest concern remains touchdown upside, but elite target earning generally wins over time.
Dynasty Verdict: BUY
3. Malik Nabers (+6)
Interesting considering the quarterback uncertainty.
Sharp managers aren’t buying the Giants.
They’re buying elite talent.
Nabers already demonstrated alpha usage as a rookie.
Talent eventually wins regardless of situation.
If New York’s offense improves even slightly, WR1 overall upside exists.
Dynasty Verdict: Strong Buy
4. George Pickens (+6)
Dallas has renewed optimism.
Reasons the market may be buying:
• Attached to Dak Prescott
• More explosive offense
• Clear outside WR role
• Big-play ability
Pickens remains volatile but his weekly ceiling is among the highest in football.
Dynasty Verdict: Buy the ceiling, accept the volatility.
5. Travis Kelce (+5)
This surprised me.
Normally aging tight ends don’t receive positive momentum.
Possible reasons:
• Chiefs offense expected to rebound.
• Kelce remains Mahomes’ most trusted target.
• Contenders are buying one more elite season.
This feels much more like a contender move than a dynasty value play.
Dynasty Verdict: Buy for contenders only.
Other Notable Buys
Malik Willis (+4)
A speculative bet.
The market appears to believe he has one of the better backup situations in football with league-winning upside if forced into action.
Christian Watson (+4)
Health will always determine his value.
The upside has never been questioned.
If he stays healthy, his price likely rises quickly.
Travis Etienne (+4)
Another interesting bounce.
The community may believe last season represented the floor rather than the new normal.
Tucker Kraft (+4)
One of my favorite movers.
Kraft continues gaining believers after emerging as Green Bay’s primary tight end.
Young, athletic, ascending.
Jaylen Warren (+4)
The market still believes efficiency eventually beats volume concerns.
If Pittsburgh gives Warren additional touches, his value climbs rapidly.
Biggest Sharp Sells
Carnell Tate (-10)
This immediately caught my attention.
We’ve talked about Tate before.
A sell signal this large usually means sharp managers are cashing out before his value becomes more dependent on projection than production.
Questions worth asking:
• Is the market overvaluing future upside?
• Has his price already reached its ceiling?
• Are sharp managers reallocating into proven NFL assets?
This doesn’t necessarily mean Tate is a bad prospect.
It simply suggests many experienced dynasty managers think today is a profitable time to move him.
C.J. Stroud (-9)
This is the headline.
Quarterbacks rarely receive this much negative sharp movement.
Possible explanations:
• Price still exceeds production.
• Texans offensive uncertainty.
• Managers pivoting toward similarly valued quarterbacks with higher rushing upside.
This doesn’t mean Stroud suddenly became a sell.
It means elite dynasty managers may view him as fully valued.
My Biggest Takeaway
The sharp market is prioritizing proven NFL production over projection.
Most of the week’s buys have already shown they can produce at the NFL level.
Meanwhile, the biggest sell (Carnell Tate) is a highly valued prospect whose current price relies heavily on future projection.
That trend is worth monitoring throughout training camp.
