According to The Athletic’s Josh Kendall, rookie wide receiver Zachariah Branch could finish the season among Atlanta’s top three receivers in targets. That’s not a prediction that Branch is about to become a fantasy starter overnight, but it is an important signal that he has a legitimate path to meaningful playing time.

For dynasty managers, those are exactly the types of situations worth paying attention to before the rest of the market catches on.

Atlanta’s passing game is built around Drake London, but the depth chart behind him remains wide open. Veterans Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus have experience, but neither has done enough to lock down a significant role. If Branch has an impressive training camp, there’s a realistic path for him to carve out consistent snaps early in his rookie season.

That opportunity is what makes this report interesting.

Branch entered the league as a third-round pick after an explosive college career where his speed and playmaking ability routinely created big plays with the ball in his hands. Atlanta doesn’t need him to become its No. 1 receiver. It simply needs him to prove he deserves touches, and his skill set gives the coaching staff multiple ways to get him involved.

Fantasy managers shouldn’t overreact to one training camp report, but they also shouldn’t ignore it.

Rookie values can move quickly during August. A few strong preseason performances or consistent first-team reps can send a player’s dynasty value climbing before he ever plays a regular-season snap. Branch fits that profile.

For redraft leagues, he’s more of a watch-list player than someone to aggressively target today. Unless his role becomes much clearer over the next few weeks, he remains a late-round dart throw rather than a player you need to reach for.

Late-round receivers attached to uncertain depth charts can provide tremendous value if they hit. Branch’s speed gives him week-winning upside if he earns meaningful playing time, making him an intriguing final-round selection in deeper tournaments.
